1. In our opinion, social networking is simply a way for people to interact with others online. There are several social networking sites such as facebook, myspace, friendster, etc. Social networking can come in the form of chatting in chatrooms and e-mails.


2. Social networking can bring several dangers to users. If they are not careful, they might be exposed to:

• Viruses and worms (infected e-mails and false advertisements)

• Identity theft (revealing important personal facts or via hackers)

• Sexual victim (in the case of young children)

• Spam

• Insecurity due to the fact that the people you meet online may be hackers or on a false identity.

• Fraud (money schemes and cheated by random people)


3. There are benefits for social networking:

• Meeting new friends

• Maintaining contact between existing friends (e.g. overseas or busy with working life)

• Sharing common interests

• Building up on communication skills

• Obtaining information ( from e-mails and advertisements)
